Phase 1
To start this
project we needed to raise at least £37,000 to repair/replace the
soleplate and other principle parts of the building's structure.
This was the most important and urgent work that was required.

of the problems
After
undertaking local meetings we were able to proceed with
Phase 1 and formally gave instructions to our project
manager Terry Lockhart to appoint Bakers of Danbury to do the
work. This commenced on the 12th of January 2009.
Phase 2
This was to replace the external doors and windows, further external work and
decoration. Repairs to gutters and down pipes, and making a French
drain. Internal repairs to walls, ceilings, woodwork. Upgrading loft
insulation. New light fittings and full redecoration.
Phase 3
This phase was to replace and improve kitchen facilities, refurbish and improve the
toilet facilities, replace the carpets etc.
Paying For It
A wonderful grant of from The Essex Environment Trust was
added to just that raised from the 'Gift Weekend' in Doddinghurst
during September 2009. This money, together with the generous grants from the
Garfield Weston Foundation, the
Friends of All
Saints the Dagwood Trust and a magnificent grant from
Doddinghurst Parish Council has allowed us to renovate Priest
House and so keep this wonderful building for the use of everyone in
the village for many more years to come.
